Warehouse Rug

Warehouse Rug is a hand-tufted rug production practice led by Milo McCafferty in Amsterdam. Each piece explores the relationship between design and environment, drawing inspiration from the organic forms, shapes and hues found in the natural world. Rooted in sustainability, Warehouse Rug transforms upcycled and recycled materials into tactile, functional artworks.

These rugs are more than objects: they are invitations to engage, connect and reinterpret spaces. Whether hung on a wall or placed on a floor, they collaborate with their surroundings to create warmth, spark dialogue and reimagine the interplay of texture and color in everyday environments.

Intricate

200 × 140 cm · Upcycled wool and nylon · Mixed tufting (cut pile, loop pile, punch needle)

‘Intricate’ captures the essence of a textured landscape, blending vibrant colors with layered techniques to create a sense of movement and depth. Designed to highlight the juxtaposition of soft textures and bold forms, this rug transforms any space into an evolving narrative, inviting interaction with its surroundings.

Gambader: A Conflict of Light

140 × 200 cm · Wool and nylon · Hand-tufted

‘Gambader’ explores the natural shapes and textures that emerge in the struggle to reach light. With flowing contours and a harmonious palette, this rug symbolizes resilience and growth, making it a reflective addition to any space.

Embryo

140 × 200 cm · Wool and nylon · Hand-tufted with integrated void design

‘Embryo’ embodies the concept of integration, with a purposeful hole in its design to connect the rug to the background or floor it’s displayed with. This piece blends neutral tones with an organic form, inviting viewers to see it as part of a larger conversation between art and environment.
